Unistellar is hosting an Asteroid Art Contest from October 1-10 and is asking students and schools worldwide to create a work of art that showcases the theme “Asteroid Discovery.” Your original artwork could win your school a groundbreaking telescope, and the opportunity to hunt asteroids alongside a global community of citizen astronomers.
Unistellar’s contest honors the upcoming Lucy mission to the Trojan asteroids, which numerous citizen astronomers contributed to through their eVscope and eQuinox observations. Unistellar is also celebrating World Space Week: Celebrating Women in Space with a special mission to get 1 million girls to discover space between Oct. 4-10.
The Grand Prize for the Asteroid Art Contest is out-of-this-world: One school (of the winner’s choice) will receive a Unistellar eVscope 2 (MSRP: $4,199 USD), a state-of-the-art digital telescope that allows each of us to discover space and contribute to science. Four Category winners will each win a Unistellar “New Astronomy” prize (Value: $500).
